Jackson Health Network (JHN) is pleased to name Michael Klinkman, MD, as its new Medical Director. Dr. Klinkman has assisted parties in our community with several grant opportunities in the past, most recently the CMMI Innovation Grant on behalf of JHN, which if awarded, will help to implement a full blown care management process that supplements PCP activities in our market.
A University of Michigan professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry, Dr. Klinkman also practices clinical psychology at Briarwood Family Medicine. In addition, he serves as the first Director of Primary Care Programs for the U of M Depression Center. In 2001, Dr. Klinkman created the Depression Center’s Primary Care Research Network.
Dr. Klinkman has 20 years of experience in developing and implementing primary care clinical information systems and conducting practice-based research. He led the development of the University of Michigan Depression Disease Management Program and its supporting health IT platform, the M-DOCC care management application. He also co-led the development of Cielo Clinic, a clinical quality management application now used by over 500 primary care clinicians in several health systems across the United States, including members of Jackson Physician Alliance (JPA).
We will welcome Dr. Klinkman’s leadership and direction to plan, organize and coordinate the JHN Clinical Integration Program. He will also assist in the development of physician relationships across the care continuum and provide leadership in clinical integration and medical management for Jackson County. We are pleased to have Dr. Klinkman on the JHN team.
Because Dr. Klinkman will be with JHN on a part-time basis, he will coordinate his work with Dr. King. Please call JHN at (517) 841-7477 with questions.
